Steve Michael is an Online Retirement Education Consultant within Vanguard's Participant Education Department.
As a Webinar Specialist, he consults, administers, designs and delivers a variety of web-based retirement education programs to institutional clients and participants. Steve is known as being the "Voice of Vanguard" for some of Vanguard's largest clients and is currently the Project Lead for Vanguard's Virtual
Education Series monthly webinars. In his tenure with the group he has also traveled extensively to conduct meetings for live audiences from 1999 through 2017. He is based in Scottsdale, Arizona and has been a member of the Vanguard crew since 1996.
Prior to becoming a Retirement Education Specialist (RES), Steve worked in numerous retirement markets including 401(k), 403(b) and Defined Benefit plans (pensions). He served as a
trainer in all of the areas mentioned above and in 1997, he received the prestigious Vanguard Admiral Award for exemplary performance and dedication to plan participants and his fellow crew.
Steve earned Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degrees in Psychology from Arizona State University and in Broadcasting from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at ASU. He holds FINRA Series 6 and 63 licenses, and the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) designation from the College for Financial Planning. Steve lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife Laura, his son Race and a handful of noisy domesticated animals.
